WINNER of the 2026 FEDERATION SHIELD

The Federation Shield 2026 Winner.

The first salmon of the 2026 season to be caught on the fly from the Federation's waters, as well as our first from the Tyne, was landed this morning from the Ovingham stretch by Peter Robinson. The fish weighed in at 15 lb 5 oz. and was returned to the water safely to continue on it's remarkable journey.

Congratulations go to Peter who will now receive the Federation Shield along with a presentation case containing a selection of flies for his catch.

Meanwhile, on the River Coquet, Chris Watson got off the mark yesterday morning with a 6 lb salmon caught from our Rothbury stretch.

Well done to both anglers.
