Catch and Release
In addition to the national rod fishing bye-laws and the River Tweed Commission Angling Codes, catch and release of all fish after 30th September on all waters is a Federation rule. Anglers are encouraged to practice catch and release at all other times, particularly with Hen Salmon and Sea Trout and any coloured fish. Coloured fish represent the future of the river and we are keen to see these fish being returned to the water as carefully as possible and unharmed. Anglers are also encouraged to return Brown Trout to the water to maintain the stock of breeding fish.
