Weeks 4 & 5
The last couple of weeks have seen improved angling conditions on our waters with several days of decent levels and colouration.
The River Tyne produced it's first fresh salmon last Wednesday at Styford and hopefully it's not too long before the Federation waters produce a fine Tyne springer. It's good to see the considerable angling effort being put in to make that happen.
On the Coquet we still await the sight of the first fresh fish but with prospects forecasted to improve, it hopefully won't be long before that prized fish is in the net.
Several extremely well mended kelts, both salmon and sea trout, a very pleasing sight for the future, have been caught and carefully returned and once again the angling effort cannot be faulted. It's been especially welcoming to see numerous, predominantly Tyne anglers fishing the Coquet along with several anglers who have returned to the Federation waters and the many new faces who are keen to learn the secrets of our waters, of which the more experienced anglers are all too happy to pass on.
We wish you well and that you all enjoy your fishing on our waters.
