With continued low water levels and mainly easterly winds angling conditions this week could have been better, however one salmon was reported caught by a visiting angler on the Pauperhaugh beat on the River Coquet last weekend.
Fish are being sighted and are continuing to move and are now well through the system so with the forecasted rain on Monday hopefully giving the rivers a welcome lift anglers are in with a chance on all the Federation stretches.
Trout anglers are continuing to report some good catches, particularly on the Coquet with a number of catches being reported in the region of 1 to 1.5 lb.
As you are all probably aware there are now a number of diseased fish in the River Coquet. If you do see diseased fish can you please report them to the Head Bailiff as the situation is being monitored and we are in the process, along with the E.A. Fisheries Officer, of investigating possible causes and we will be out this week on the Federation waters looking for any possible pointers. We understand this now appears to be a perennial problem but the E.A. are more than willing to investigate this issue.
May we take this opportunity to once again thank Kevin Dawson for giving his time to encourage youngsters to take up the sport with his popular tuition days. More of these events will be arranged in the near future. We'd also like to thank the many Federation anglers and their guests who attended the very popular Hardy's event last Saturday at the White Posts. We hope you all had an enjoyable day trying out the equipment and catching up with fellow anglers. Special thanks go to Jonathan and Megan of the Coquet Lodge for the kind use of their land at the venue.
Hope you saw our Snowbee Event new item on Friday and that you are coming to one of these venues.

To all anglers venturing out this week we wish you tight lines.
