The rain on Monday brought a welcome top-up to the rivers and along with it, an improvement in angling conditions.
With a decent rise and some colouration to the water several anglers ventured out this week. One such angler was George Nicholson who was rewarded with a fine salmon of around 10 lbs at High Park on Tuesday afternoon. Then, on Wednesday, visiting angler John Blewitt recorded a nice grilse weighing in at 4 lbs 8 oz on the River Till stretch.
There have been reports of plenty of fish seen on the River Coquet with some sizeable specimens among them, and we are seeing the start of what will hopefully be a good sea trout run. With more rain forecast for early next week, it could prove fruitful for any anglers on the water in the coming days.
We wish you tight lines.
