This week saw more settled weather with the rain on Tuesday giving a slight lift to the levels and the water maintaining good colouration.
Again, there have been several reports of good Coquet brownies being caught, many in the region of 1 to 2lbs. Visitor Eddie Leahy certainly thought his trip was worthwhile with a couple from Pauperhaugh and Rothbury.
Anglers are now booking days on the River Till beat in anticipation of the renowned sea trout run and whilst no catches have been reported, fish have been seen.
On the Tyne there are still no reports of fresh fish from our waters but angler Peter Robinson did manage, after a good fight, an extremely well-mended salmon kelt in the region of 15 lbs upwards.
Although levels were dropping steadily towards the end of the week, conditions remained decent with several anglers on the water. One angler who is never far away from the water is Gordon Black and he reaped the rewards for all his efforts on Friday with a stunning salmon of 10 lbs taking his fly on the Coquet at High Park. Well done once again Gordon.
Reports indicate there is a decent head of fish through the system and with a dry spell beckoning the early mornings and evenings will represent the best times for catching silvers. The warming temperatures should also produce some decent hatches and any cloud cover will hopefully bring the trout anglers decent sport.
Pictured are Gordon Black's salmon, a Coquet brownie caught this week, and a Tyne Angler at Prudhoe.

The Federation wish you all a happy Easter and tight lines to everyone on the water this week.
