The Passing of Long Time Federation Angler Tommy Middlemass.
With great sadness, we learned yesterday of the passing of the very popular, veteran Federation angler Tommy Middlemass.
Tommy's passion for angling knew no bounds and he was more often than not to be seen at High Park, either fishing his favourite pools or building steps and the seats on which he so enjoyed a good natter and at the end of his day always managed to climb that hill, even at the ripe old age of 88.
For all his hard work and efforts over the years Tommy was deservedly awarded a lifetime honorary permit several years ago much to his delight.
Throughout his many years as a Federation angler Tommy always had a smile and time for everyone and had built up many close friendships with whom his memory will live on. He will be sorely missed along his favourite banks of the Coquet.
We would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all anglers and officials of Northumbrian Anglers Federation to convey the most sincere condolences to Tommy's family and friends.
