THE FIRST FEDERATION TYNE SALMON OF 2024 CAUGHT

THE FIRST FEDERATION TYNE SALMON OF 2024 CAUGHT

With great pleasure we can announce that the first fresh salmon of 2024 from the River Tyne's Federation waters was caught on Sunday.

Congratulations go to angler Jacek Bernard who caught the superb cock fish on one of his self tied shrimp fly patterns on the Ovingham Beat. The fish weighed in at 15 lb 2 oz. and was returned to the water safely to continue on it's remarkable journey.

With the fish being the first fly caught salmon on our waters Jacek will now receive the Federation Shield along with a presentation case containing a selection of flies tied and kindly donated by Federation anglers.

The warmest of congratulations from everyone involved with the Federation go to Jacek.

Well done.
