THE FIRST COQUET SALMON OF 2024 CAUGHT
With great pleasure we can announce that the first fresh salmon of 2024 from the River Coquet has been caught on N.A.F. waters today.
The warmest of congratulations go to angler John Foster who caught the prized salmon on a black and yellow devon minnow at 13.50 at the White Posts on the Tidal Beat.
The fish, in superb condition was verified and weighed in at 14 lb 10 oz. and returned to the water safely to make it's onward journey.
An obviously delighted John will now receive the esteemed River Coquet Trophy for what will be his fifth time in the many illustrious years he has spent as a Federation angler.
Sincere congratulations from everyone involved with the Federation go to John.
