Season Finale
With the season now ended we sincerely hope all our anglers have enjoyed their season in one way or another despite the prolonged low water conditions greatly affecting sport this year. With the driest Spring in over 100 years seeming to last until October it's been a frustrating year for game anglers almost everywhere. Our Tyne waters have done quite well by recent standards however, with the lower water levels at times being advantageous. A few catches were reported in October with George Sneddon finishing the season with a fine 10 lb salmon from the Wires. With the rain that was forecast never really amounting to much the Coquet saw little improvement throughout the final weeks although catches slightly improved with the occasional small lifts it did get with 12 salmon and 22 sea trout reported, among them a 10 lb 4 oz sea trout caught by Matt Bradbeer and a closing day 14 lb salmon caught by Richard Rendall.
For anyone wishing to extend their season our River Till waters remain open for salmon and sea trout fishing until the end of November with days available on a strictly pre-booked basis.
Catch returns must be reported at the end of your day and both these should be done by contacting the Head Bailiff. These are separate to your season catch returns which are required by 15th November. Late returns result in extra administration so please endeavour to get them in on time.
All the best and we hope to see you all again next season.
