RIVER COQUET - A JULY JEWEL
It's just a few days since the last report but another update was essential to let you all know of the remarkable fishing over the last few days and to allow us to give a few honorable mentions. For the many anglers who've managed time on the water most have been duly rewarded throughout a phenomenal second half of July.
In the twelve days since we got a lift in the water the number of fish caught on our River Coquet beats and reported to the Head Bailiff has now surpassed 80. The numbers dictate that we can't detail all the catches but the majority of fish have been pristine sea trout with most in the range of 4 to 7 lbs and a few superb salmon ranging from 8 to 12 lbs with catches coming from throughout the system.
Continuing their good runs are anglers Dale Green, George Nicholson, Peter Robinson and Chris Watson who all added to their tallies. Also among the fish were Chris Dunn, Adam Mulgrew, Paul Final, Mick Robinson, Gordon Black, Dave Carr, John Robertson, Gregg Ritchie, John Madgin and Chris Richardson, who deserves a special mention after landing an amazing fourteen (14) sea trout in a session on Wednesday.
We apologise if we've missed anyone and if you'd like your catches mentioned in future reports please feel free to inform the Head Bailiff.
Well done once again to all anglers who've caught but above all we hope every angler has enjoyed their time on the water.
Tight lines to you all.
