INCREDIBLE SPORT AND A SPECIMEN SEA TROUT
Another amazing week of sport has been had by many anglers on our Coquet beats with August beginning where July left off.Again the reported catches are too numerous to list in detail but over the recent days almost 50 salmon and sea trout have come from our waters.
The majority of salmon caught have been in the 8 to 12 lbs range whilst several beautifully conditioned grilse and well over 30 sea trout in the 3 to 7 lbs range have come to the net.Among the anglers to catch are George Nicholson, who continues to add to his amazing tally with several salmon and sea trout, along with his son George, Joe Clarke, Jon Ling,Paul Robson,Kevin Stone, Daniel Thompson and Barry Mcgeeney.
Special mentions go to Graham Pirie who landed a 12 lbs salmon, his first on the fly, Billy Toland who managed several fish, a 9 lbs 8 oz sea trout the pick of the bunch, Peter Robinson who continued to add to his impressive tally with a superb sea trout of 11 lbs 6 oz among his many catches and David Lee who landed a beautiful fresh salmon of 11 lbs. Warm congratulations go to Sharon Farnie who landed her first migratory fish, a pristine sea trout of 5 lbs o
And finally, the report wouldn't be complete without mentioning Dale Green. Once again Dale has landed several salmon and sea trout but on Friday he landed what is surely the fish of a lifetime (and he's caught a few in his lifetime) a sea trout weighing in and verified at a mighty 17 lbs 10 oz. Truly, a specimen of a fish. Sincerely well done Dale.
Congratulations go to all anglers who have caught and to those who are enjoying their time on the water. Good conditions are predicted to carry into next week so hopefully the incredible sport will continue.
Tight lines to you all.
