GREYS EVENT - A GREAT SUCCESS

GREYS EVENT - A GREAT SUCCESS.

The Federations joint event with Greys held over two days this weekend was a great success. Over the two days over 110 people attended the event and were given the opportunity to try river angling.

The participants ranged from children, family groups to individuals who all took the opportunity to learn about the art of river fishing and have a go at casting. A lot of attendees said they were keen to take up angling after having had a try at this event. Many participants said they had wanted to take up fishing for a while but did know how to start, what equipment to buy, or where they could fish and thought this event was a great starter event to encourage them to take up angling having learnt how to cast, the fishing equipment to buy, also finding out how and where they could fish.

A lot of Federation permit holders also came to the event to meet the Federation Team and try the great range of Greys and Hardys rods provided by Greys for everyone to try.

Everyone who attended enjoyed the fly tying demonstrations by Kenny Middlemass and Ryan Thompson, also enjoying the great display of dressed sticks made by Alan Crowe who was on hand over the weekend to answer any questions.

The Federation would like to thank the following who enabled the event to happen:

Northumberland Estates for their permission to hold the event.

Gordon MacKenzie for the use of his land.

Instructors Barry Mitchell and Kevin Dawson

Kenny Middlemass and Ryan Thompson for the fly tying demonstrations.

Alan Crowe for his display of dressed sticks

Greys for their support of this event and for supplying the demonstration rods.

David Lee, Graham Pirie and Gordon Black for their help at the event.

Finally, The Federation team.
