End of Summer Update.
A downpour at the beginning of the month provided several days good sport on our waters and despite the skies clearing and bringing some bright sunny days and decreasing water levels catch numbers have remained very decent over the last couple of weeks with almost 50 fish reported by several anglers.
On the Coquet, among the fish were Tony Dunn, Paul Gilliard, Gordon Black, Graham Pirie, John Percival, Dylan Edminson, David Lee, Ashley Gray, Rob Fletcher, David Proctor, John Mills, William Toland and of course, Dale Green who managed another 7 salmon and grilse. George Nicholson had two fine salmon of 14 lb 9 oz and 11 lb in one morning, John Jervis has done well with a small Cascade producing a superb 16 lb fish amongst his catches and last weekend Leigh Final had among his catches a superb 13 lb 3 oz sea trout caught in low water on one of his small fly patterns.
On the River Tyne, Peter Robinson had a nice 11 lb salmon, Craig Foster had a salmon of around 10 lb and Steve Patterson had a beautiful fish weighing in at 16 lb 14 oz from the Wires whilst on our Till water, Nicholas Polunin had a good day with three sea trout to 3 lb despite conditions not being ideal.
Well done and thanks go to all those anglers mentioned for the updates. They're much appreciated and serve to help other anglers.
Tight lines to you all.
