With great sadness, I learned earlier in the week of the passing of long time Federation angler Alan Ross.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all anglers and officials of Northumbrian Anglers Federation to convey the most sincere condolences to Alan's family and friends.

Alan was a very keen and passionate angler, who without fail, was always the first to apply for his season permit in readiness for the opening day and enjoyed many years on the riverbank as a Federation permit holder where he was extremely well liked and had many good friends and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his kindness, wit and dry sense of humour.

We wish Alan's family well in this difficult time.
