After a cold but bright start, the temperatures warmed throughout the week and with it, the water levels dropped and the clarity improved. With the sun shining through mainly cloudless skies it hasn't made for good angling conditions with early mornings or evenings providing the best opportunities.
A couple of kelts were caught earlier in the week on the mid and lower beats but other than those no catches have been reported on any of the Federation waters.
Tuesday saw a welcome return to the Brown Trout season with a few keen anglers out on the mid and upper stretches in search of those stunning Coquet brownies.
The forecast for the week ahead is for some much needed rain and hopefully with it, a welcome top-up to our waters and in turn an improvement in angling conditions.
Tight lines to all Federation anglers.
