What a great season we had on Federation waters during 2024. Some fantastic salmon fishing with anglers catching their personal best salmon, their first salmon and the most salmon they have caught in one season.
Although sea trout numbers were slightly down from the previous year, there was some nice fish caught last season.
Brown trout anglers are reporting a good season with some bigger trout being caught than in previous years. The weight of the fish which won The Centenary Cup for the heaviest brown trout is 7lb 8oz which is the heaviest trout caught since the competition began in 1994.
But most of all, it has been great to hear from so many permit holders who have enjoyed fishing the Federations waters during 2024, meeting fellow anglers, sharing knowledge, participating in our events and enjoying the good spirit and companionship which is representative of where the Federation is now.
